today i had to ride the bus. i am not one of those street smart people. so i get kinda nervous. whenever i ride the bus i manage to mess it up somehow. i stand on the wrong side of the road. miss my stop. so when ever i ride the bus i am super focused. lol. basically i am directionally challenged.
the last few days have been a little rough. so i was a little down. on the way back from my interview this older guy sat infront of me. he began talking to me like we were old friends. not gonna lie at first i was kinda weirded out. i was trying to figure out if he knew me or what. he basically started asking me random questions about everything. i answered politely trying not to sound annoyed. and trying to focus on not missing my stop. then he explained to me how his dad had just died of cancer. the way he said it was some what lighthearted. but i could tell that he was hurting. then he told me how he was now gonna be going to the VA hospital to have surgery and how he felt so alone. that he had no family. all of a sudden i could relate. i have a family but i have definitely felt alone before.
then it was one of those moments. living in a society that puts greater emphasis on material things that can supposively make you better than others it is easy to sometimes think the world does revolve around you. when i was younger i would dwell in self pity. thinking that i was the only one that had ever been sad before. but in reality we are all the same for the most part. we all want to feel loved, to feel needed. we all want to feel like we belong. god loves us all the same. it is easy to judge people. but you grow as a person when you can overlook superficialness and remember what unites us all.

always forward.
Watch your thoughts,
for they become words.
Watch your words,
for they become actions.
Watch your actions,
for they become habits.
Watch your habits,
for they become character.
Watch your character,
for it becomes your destiny.
for they become words.
Watch your words,
for they become actions.
Watch your actions,
for they become habits.
Watch your habits,
for they become character.
Watch your character,
for it becomes your destiny.
